Day 1: Introduction to Attachment Theory, Process of EFT and EFT Interventions
1.State an overview of the three (3) stages and nine (9) steps of the EFT model
2.List the ABCʻS of Attachment Needs
3.Describe, according to Attachment Theory, the state of health, the primary need, the primary threat & state of illness in adult romantic relationships
4.Recite the elements of the Process of Emotion
5.Apply EFT interventions to uncover the coupleʻs negative pattern
6.Summarize the three (3) emotion regulation/attachment strategies and three (3) negative interaction patterns that contribute to relational distress in couples
7.Identify a coupleʻs negative cycle, and reflect and summarize it back to the couple, using TEMPO
Day 2: Alliance, Assessment, Deepening of & Tangoing with Emotion
1.Identify the five (5) moves of the EFT Tango
2.Practice the assembly, deepening and expanding of core attachment affect in EFT Tango Move 2
3.Demonstrate ability to choreograph, process, integrate & validate an engaged encounter of core attachment emotion in EFT Tango Moves 3, 4 & 5.
4.Utilize EFT interventions of RISSSC, Heightening, Empathic Conjecture, Evocative Questions, Proxy Voice & Validation to facilitate deeper affective engagement within and between the partners
5.Explain the structure of the initial EFT assessment sessions
6.Formulate a plan to conduct an EFT assessment that is mindful of people of diverse & marginalized identities.
7.Identify the Three As of Contraindications for a full course of EFT to be successful.
Day 3: Internal Worlds of Withdrawers & Pursuers, EFT Stage 2 Change Events
1.Detect the primary need, view of self/other, core attachment emotions & protective moves of Withdrawers
2.Find the of Pursuerʻs primary need, view of self/other, core attachment emotions & protective moves
3.Conduct the sequence of interventions of HEAR (Hold, Explore, Accept, Reflect) with Pursuers to deepen emotion
4.Apply the sequence of interventions of RAVE (Reflect, Accept, Validate, Explore) with Withdrawers to deepen emotion
5.Utilize attachment reframes to promote safety and support continue risking in EFT
6.Organize a reveal of core attachment emotion & disowned aspect of self in EFT Step 5 Withdrawer Re-Engagement & Pursuer Softening
7.Assemble the ingredients to Promote Acceptance in EFT Step 6 of Withdrawer Re-Engagement & Pursuer Softening
Day 4: EFT Stage 3, EFT with Individuals & Families, High Conflict Couples
1.Practice de-escalating interventions to use with high conflict couples
2.Identify self-of-therapist awareness to working amidst high conflict dynamics
3.Explain Steps 8 & 9 of Consolidation and Integration in EFT Stage 3
4.Describe the differences in choreographed encounters in EFT & EFIT
